Mont Vernon is a town in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located in the southern part of the state, approximately 15 miles (24 km) southwest of Manchester. The town has a population of about 2,200 people and covers an area of about 20 square miles (52 km2). The climate in Mont Vernon is humid continental, with warm summers and cold winters. The town was founded in 1774 and was named after George Washington's estate, Mount Vernon. Mont Vernon is home to a number of historic sites, including the Mont Vernon Congregational Church, which was built in 1772, and the Mont Vernon Academy, which was founded in 1803.
