Molsberg is a municipality in the Rhein-Lahn district of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the central part of the district, about 10 km southwest of Diez. The municipality consists of the village of Molsberg and the hamlet of Obernhof. The climate is temperate with mild winters and warm summers. The average annual temperature is 9.5 °C. The municipality was first mentioned in a document from 1288. It was part of the County of Nassau from 1290 to 1806. In 1806, it became part of the Duchy of Nassau. In 1866, it became part of the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1946, it became part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The municipality is home to the Molsberg Castle, which was built in the 13th century.
