Milton is a town in Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. It is located on the Winooski River, about 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Burlington. The town was chartered in 1763 and named after John Milton, the English poet. Milton has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters.
