It lies approximately 9 kilometers (6 mi) northeast of Nowa Sól, 23 km (14 mi) southeast of Zielona Góra, and 64 km (40 mi) south of Gorzów Wielkopolski. The village has a temperate climate, with average temperatures ranging from -2°C in January to 18°C in July. Międzylesie's history dates back to the 13th century, and it has a rich cultural heritage, including the ruins of a 14th-century castle and a 17th-century church.
