Midway, Kentucky, is a small city located in Woodford County, Kentucky, United States, approximately 20 miles (32 km) east of Lexington. The city has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and cold, dry winters. Midway was founded in 1784 and was originally known as "Midway Station" due to its location halfway between Lexington and Frankfort. The city is home to several historic sites, including the Midway University campus, which was founded in 1847 as the Kentucky Female Orphan School.
