Melissochórion, also known as Baltza, is a village in Kentriki Makedonia, Greece, located at 40.7666700 latitude and 22.9250000 longitude. It is situated in the municipality of Pella and has a population of 474 people (2011 census). The village has a rich history, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Neolithic period. In the 14th century, it was conquered by the Ottoman Empire and remained under Ottoman rule until the 19th century. The village was liberated in 1912 during the Balkan Wars and became part of Greece. Today, Melissochórion is a thriving community with a strong agricultural sector. The village is known for its production of honey, olives, and grapes.
