Medina de Pomar is a town in Castile and León, Spain, located at an altitude of 683 meters above sea level, between the Sierra de la Tesla and the Sierra de Arcena. It has a humid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. The town has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, when it was an important stronghold on the border between Castile and Navarre. It was granted a charter by King Alfonso VIII in 1199, and its medieval walls and towers are still largely intact. The town is also home to several churches and monasteries, including the Collegiate Church of San Salvador, which was built in the 13th century.
