Medgyesegyháza is a village in Békés county, Hungary. It is located in the Great Hungarian Plain, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of the city of Békéscsaba. The village has a population of about 4,000 people. The climate is continental, with hot summers and cold winters. The average temperature in January is -2°C (28°F), and the average temperature in July is 22°C (72°F). The village was first mentioned in historical records in 1240. It was part of the Ottoman Empire from 1566 to 1699. The village has a rich cultural heritage, and there are many historical buildings in the village, including the Roman Catholic church, which was built in the 14th century.
