Mbaké, also known as Mbacké, is a city located in the Diourbel region of Senegal, approximately 190 kilometers east of Dakar. The city has a tropical climate with an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius throughout the year. Mbaké was founded in the 19th century by Sheikh Amadou Bamba, the founder of the Mouride brotherhood, and is considered a holy city by its followers. The city is home to the Grand Mosque of Touba, one of the largest mosques in Africa, and is a popular pilgrimage site for Muslims.
