Massamagrell, also known as Masamgrell, is a municipality in the province of Valencia, Spain, located in the comarca of Horta Nord. It is situated at an altitude of 15 meters above sea level and has a population of 15,637 inhabitants (2022). The municipality has an area of 6.1 square kilometers and is bordered by the municipalities of Alboraya, Meliana, and Rafelbunyol. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters. Massamagrell has a rich history and heritage, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Bronze Age. The town was founded by the Romans in the 1st century BC and was later occupied by the Moors from the 8th to the 13th centuries. After the Reconquista, Massamagrell was granted a charter by King James I of Aragon in 1237. The town's economy is based on agriculture, with oranges and rice being the main crops. Massamagrell is also home to a number of industries, including textiles, footwear, and furniture.
