Marcaria is a town in the province of Mantua, Lombardy, Italy. It is located in the central part of the province, on the banks of the Oglio River. The town has a population of about 6,000 people. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot summers and cold winters. The average temperature in July is 25 degrees Celsius, and the average temperature in January is 4 degrees Celsius. Marcaria was founded in the 12th century by the Benedictine monks. The town was later ruled by the Visconti family, the Gonzaga family, and the Habsburg family. In 1797, Marcaria became part of the Cisalpine Republic. In 1815, it became part of the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia. In 1861, Marcaria became part of the Kingdom of Italy.
