Maple Bluff is a village in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States, located on the south shore of Lake Mendota, just west of Madison. The village has a population of 1,306 as of the 2010 census. Maple Bluff was founded in 1846 by a group of German immigrants. The village was originally known as "Germantown," but the name was changed to "Maple Bluff" in 1883. The village is home to the Maple Bluff Country Club, which was founded in 1899. The village is also home to the University of Wisconsin–Madison Arboretum, which was established in 1932. The village has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters.
