Manhasset is a village located on the North Shore of Long Island in Nassau County, New York, United States. It is situated approximately 18 miles (29 kilometers) east of Midtown Manhattan. The area experiences a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Manhasset has a rich history dating back to the 17th century, when it was first settled by Dutch colonists. The village played a significant role in the American Revolution and was home to many prominent figures, including George Washington and Alexander Hamilton. Manhasset's heritage is reflected in its numerous historic landmarks, including the Manhasset Valley Schoolhouse and the Onderdonk House.
