Mandalī is a city in the Diyala Governorate of Iraq, located 90 km northeast of Baghdad on the Diyala River. The city has a hot desert climate with average temperatures ranging from 10°C in January to 45°C in July. Mandalī has a rich history dating back to the ancient Akkadian period, and was an important center of trade and commerce in the Middle Ages. The city is home to several historical sites, including the ruins of the ancient city of Dur-Kurigalzu, which was founded by the Kassite king Kurigalzu I in the 14th century BC.
