Manchester, Connecticut, also known as Central Manchester, is a town located in Hartford County. It lies at the intersection of I-84 and I-384, approximately 10 miles east of Hartford. The town has a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Manchester was founded in 1672 as part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and was later incorporated as a town in 1823. It is home to several historic sites, including the Cheney Brothers National Historic District and the Nathan Hale Homestead. The town's heritage is deeply rooted in the textile industry, which flourished in the 19th and 20th centuries.
