Malaya Vishera is a town in Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located on the Msta River, 105 kilometers southeast of Veliky Novgorod. The town has a population of 13,744 (2010 Census). The climate is humid continental, with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. The average temperature in January is -10.5 °C (13.1 °F), and the average temperature in July is 17.5 °C (63.5 °F). Malaya Vishera was first mentioned in chronicles in 1436. It was granted town status in 1772. The town is home to a number of historical and cultural landmarks, including the Church of the Resurrection (1764), the Church of the Intercession (1801), and the Malaya Vishera Museum of Local Lore.
