Machiasport is a town in Washington County, Maine, United States. It is located on the coast of the Gulf of Maine, approximately 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Machias. The town has a population of 1,128 (2020 census). The climate is humid continental, with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. Machiasport was first settled in 1763 by fishermen and farmers. The town was incorporated in 1826. Machiasport is home to the Machiasport Historical Society, which operates a museum that tells the story of the town's history.
