Ludza is a town in the Latgale region of eastern Latvia, situated on the Ludza River. The town has a rich history, dating back to the 12th century when it was first mentioned in written sources. Ludza was granted city rights in 1777 and became a regional center in the 19th century. The town is known for its beautiful architecture, including the Ludza Castle, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Ludza Synagogue.
