Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, is a city located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is situated along the Allegheny River, approximately 20 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. The city has a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The area was originally inhabited by Native Americans, and the first European settlers arrived in the 18th century. The city was founded in 1836 and named after John Burrell, a local landowner.
