Longmeadow, Massachusetts, is a town in Hampden County, Massachusetts, United States. It is located in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, approximately 5 miles (8 km) west of Springfield, and 90 miles (140 km) west of Boston. The town has a population of approximately 16,000 people. The weather in Longmeadow is characterized by cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. The town was first settled in 1636 by English colonists and was incorporated in 1783. Longmeadow is home to a number of historic sites, including the Longmeadow Historical Society and the Old Burying Ground. The town is also known for its excellent schools and its strong sense of community.
