Little Valley, New York, United States, is a village in Cattaraugus County. It is located in the southwest of the state, near the Pennsylvania border. The village has a humid continental climate, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Little Valley was founded in 1826 by James and Polly Smith. The village grew rapidly in the 19th century, due to the construction of the Erie Canal and the arrival of the railroad. Little Valley is home to several historic buildings, including the Little Valley Presbyterian Church, which was built in 1831, and the Cattaraugus County Courthouse, which was built in 1859.
