Linden, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

Linden is a town in the Westerwaldkreis district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated approximately 7 km southeast of Montabaur, and 20 km northeast of Koblenz. The town has a population of around 2,000 people. The average temperature in Linden is 10 degrees Celsius, with an average annual precipitation of 700 mm. Linden was first mentioned in a document in 1252. The town was part of the Electorate of Trier until 1803, when it was annexed by the Duchy of Nassau. In 1866, Nassau was annexed by Prussia, and Linden became part of the German Empire. After World War II, Linden became part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
