Linden, Alabama, is a small city located in the west-central part of the state, approximately 40 miles southwest of Tuscaloosa. The city experiences a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild, wet winters. Linden has a rich history dating back to the 1830s, when it was founded as a stagecoach stop along the Natchez Trace. The city played a significant role in the American Civil War and is home to several historic sites, including the Marengo County Courthouse and the Linden Historic District.
