It is located in the Sacramento Valley, approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of the city of Marysville. The weather in Linda is characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The average temperature in July is 86°F (30°C), while the average temperature in January is 46°F (8°C). Linda was founded in 1857 by William and Mary Murphy, who named the town after their daughter. The town was originally a stagecoach stop on the Marysville-Oroville Road. In the early 1900s, Linda became a center for fruit and vegetable farming. Today, Linda is a thriving community with a diverse population and a strong economy.
