Lincoln was founded in 1871 by settlers from the eastern United States. The city was named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. Lincoln is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Lincoln County Courthouse and the Lincoln County Jail. The city is also home to the Lincoln County Historical Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts from the city's past.
