Lillestrøm is a city and municipality in Akershus, Norway, located at the confluence of the Nitelva and Leira rivers, approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Oslo. The city has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. Lillestrøm's history dates back to the Viking Age, and it was granted city status in 1997. The city is home to a number of historical and cultural landmarks, including the Lillestrøm Church, the Lillestrøm Museum, and the Lillestrøm Cultural Center.
