Leinsweiler is a municipality in the Südliche Weinstraße district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Palatinate Forest, near the border with France. The municipality has a population of around 1,700 people and covers an area of 5.8 square kilometers. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 10 to 15 degrees Celsius. Leinsweiler has a rich history, dating back to the Roman era. The municipality was first mentioned in a document from 1141. In the 13th century, Leinsweiler was granted town rights by the Count of Leiningen. The town was destroyed by fire in 1689 during the War of the Palatine Succession. Leinsweiler was rebuilt in the 18th century and has since been a prosperous wine-growing town.
