Leça do Bailio is a civil parish in the municipality of Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal. It is located north of the city of Porto, on the Atlantic coast. The weather is temperate, with mild winters and warm summers. The parish has a long history, dating back to the 12th century. It was once home to a number of important historical monuments, including the Monastery of Leça do Bailio, which was founded in 1185. The monastery was destroyed in the 19th century, but its ruins are still visible today. Leça do Bailio is also home to a number of other historical sites, including the Church of São Pedro de Leça do Bailio, which was built in the 16th century.
