Lazarevac is a town and municipality in the Belgrade District of Serbia, located 60 kilometers south of Belgrade at the confluence of the Kolubara and Jasenica rivers. It has a humid subtropical climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The town was first mentioned in 1389 and was named after Prince Lazar, who was killed in the Battle of Kosovo. Lazarevac has a rich cultural heritage, including the Lazarevac Monastery, which was built in the 14th century and is one of the oldest monasteries in Serbia.
