Lake Hallie is part of the Chippewa Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was founded in 1857 by John Halverson and was named after his daughter, Hallie. The city is home to several parks, including Lake Hallie Park, which is located on the shores of Lake Hallie. The city also has a strong Norwegian heritage, and many of the city's early settlers were Norwegian immigrants.
