Lake Bluff, Illinois, is a village located at the northern end of Lake County, Illinois, United States. The village is situated on the western shore of Lake Michigan, approximately 30 miles north of Chicago. Lake Bluff has a population of approximately 5,700 residents and is known for its beautiful lakefront, historic homes, and excellent schools. The village was founded in 1835 by a group of settlers from New England. The village was originally named "Bluff City" but was later renamed "Lake Bluff" in 1855. The village's economy is primarily based on tourism, retail, and manufacturing. Lake Bluff is home to several parks, including the Lake Bluff Beach, the Bluff Park, and the Sunrise Park. The village also has a number of historic buildings, including the Lake Bluff Train Station, the Lake Bluff Public Library, and the Lake Bluff History Museum.
