Kybartai, also known as Kibartaj, is a town in southwestern Lithuania, near the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia. It has a humid continental climate with warm, wet summers and cold, snowy winters. The town was first mentioned in written sources in 1561 and was granted city rights in 1947. It is home to a number of historical and cultural landmarks, including the Kybartai Synagogue, the Kybartai Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Kybartai Railway Station.
