Kuteynykove, Donets’ka, Ukraine

Kuteynykove is a village in the Bakhmut Raion (district) of Donetsk Oblast (province) in eastern Ukraine. It is located at the headwaters of the Bulavyn River, a tributary of the Kryvyi Torets, in the drainage basin of the Donets. The village has a humid continental climate, with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. Kuteynykove was first mentioned in written sources in 1703. It was originally a Cossack settlement, and later became a center of the coal mining industry. The village has a number of historical and cultural monuments, including the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in 1864, and the Kuteynykove Museum of Local Lore, which houses a collection of artifacts from the village's past.
