Krog, also known as Korong, is a small village located in the northeastern part of Slovenia, in the municipality of Murska Sobota. The village is situated at an altitude of 295 meters above sea level and has a population of around 300 people. The climate in Krog is temperate, with warm summers and cold winters. The average temperature in July is 20 degrees Celsius, while the average temperature in January is -2 degrees Celsius. Krog has a long history, dating back to the 13th century. The village was first mentioned in written sources in 1255. In the 16th century, Krog was part of the Habsburg Empire. After World War I, Krog became part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. During World War II, Krog was occupied by Nazi Germany. After the war, Krog became part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. In 1991, Krog became part of the independent Republic of Slovenia.
