Krasnyy Kholm is a town in Tverskaya Oblast, Russia, located on the Mologa River at the confluence of the Neledina River, 213 kilometers (132 mi) northwest of Tver. It has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. The town was founded in 1456 as a fortress to protect the border between the Grand Duchy of Moscow and the Novgorod Republic. In the 18th century, it became a center of trade and industry, and in the 19th century, it was known for its textile mills. Today, Krasnyy Kholm is a small town with a population of around 5,000 people. It is home to a number of historical and cultural landmarks, including the Church of the Resurrection, the Church of the Intercession, and the Krasnyy Kholm Museum of Local Lore.
