The village was first mentioned in the chronicles in 1569. It was part of the Grand Duchy of Moscow from the 15th century to the 17th century, and then part of the Russian Empire. The village has a rich history and heritage, and is home to several historical and cultural monuments, including the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin (1764), the Church of the Holy Trinity (1823), and the Kosmynino Manor (19th century).
