The village was first mentioned in 1332, and it has a rich history. In the 16th century, it was occupied by the Turks, and in the 18th century, it was the site of a major battle between the Austrians and the Hungarians. The village has a number of historical monuments, including the ruins of a medieval castle and a 19th-century church.
