Kolchikón, Greece, also known as Balaftsa, is a village in the municipality of Pella, Central Macedonia, Greece. It is located at an altitude of 120 meters (394 feet) and has a population of 600 people (2011 census). The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters. Kolchikón has a rich history, dating back to the Byzantine era. The village was part of the Ottoman Empire from the 15th to the 19th century, and was liberated in 1912. The village is home to a number of historical monuments, including the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary, which was built in the 16th century.
