Klingenmünster is a municipality in the Südliche Weinstraße district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Palatine Forest, on the German Wine Route, near the border with France. The municipality has a population of around 2,300 people. The average temperature in Klingenmünster is 10.5 °C (50.9 °F). The municipality was first mentioned in a document in 1146. It was granted town rights in 1330. Klingenmünster was a member of the Hanseatic League from 1354 to 1668. The town was destroyed by fire in 1689 during the Nine Years' War. It was rebuilt in the 18th century. Klingenmünster is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Protestant church, which was built in the 15th century, and the town hall, which was built in the 16th century.
