Kissimmee is known as the "Gateway to the Everglades" and is located just south of Orlando, Florida. The city has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild, dry winters. Kissimmee was founded in 1883 and was named after Lake Kissimmee, which is located to the east of the city. The city has a rich history and heritage, with many historic buildings and landmarks.
