Kirovo-Chepetsk, also known as Chepets, is a city located in the Kirov Oblast of Russia, on the Cheptsa River, a tributary of the Vyatka River. It has a humid continental climate with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. The city was founded in 1935 as a chemical industry center and is home to several chemical plants, including the Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant, which produces fertilizers, plastics, and other chemicals.
