Kingstown, Maryland is a small town in Queen Anne's County, located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland at latitude 39.2048300 and longitude -76.0513300. The town has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and cool, wet winters. Kingstown was founded in 1691 and was originally known as Queenstown. The town was renamed Kingstown in 1708 in honor of King George I of Great Britain. Kingstown has a rich history and heritage, and is home to several historic buildings and sites, including the Kingstown Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
