Kingisepp, a city in Leningrad Oblast, Russia, is located at the confluence of the Luga and Rosson Rivers, approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Saint Petersburg. With a humid continental climate, Kingisepp experiences warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Its history dates back to the 14th century, when it was known as Jamburg and served as a border fortress between Russia and Sweden. In 1922, it was renamed Kingisepp in honor of the Estonian communist Viktor Kingissepp. The city is home to several historical landmarks, including the ruins of Jamburg Castle and the Church of the Holy Trinity.
