Khomutovo is a village in Orlovsky District of Oryol Oblast, Russia. It is located in the western part of the oblast, approximately 20 kilometers west of the city of Oryol. The village has a population of about 1,000 people. The climate in Khomutovo is humid continental, with warm summers and cold winters. The average temperature in July is 19 degrees Celsius, and the average temperature in January is -9 degrees Celsius. The village was first mentioned in historical records in the 16th century. It was originally a part of the Grand Duchy of Moscow, and later became part of the Russian Empire. In the 19th century, Khomutovo was a center of the iron industry. The village has a number of historical landmarks, including the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which was built in the 18th century.
