Khmel’nyts’kyy, formerly known as Proskurov, is a city in western Ukraine, situated on the banks of the Buh River. With a population of over 270,000, it is the administrative center of Khmelnytskyi Oblast. The city has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. Historically, Khmel’nyts’kyy was a significant trade and cultural center, and it played a key role in the Ukrainian War of Independence. Today, it is home to several historical landmarks, including the 17th-century Church of the Assumption and the 19th-century Khmelnytskyi Regional Museum.
