Kerhonkson is a hamlet located in the town of Rochester, Ulster County, New York, United States. It is situated at the foot of the Catskill Mountains, at an elevation of 325 feet (99 m). The hamlet is named after the Kerhonkson Creek, which flows through it. The weather in Kerhonkson is characterized by hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The average temperature in July is 72 °F (22 °C), while the average temperature in January is 28 °F (-2 °C). The hamlet was founded in 1820 by Dutch settlers. It was originally a farming community, but it later became a popular destination for summer tourists. Kerhonkson is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Kerhonkson Reformed Church, which was built in 1832.
