Keeseville, New York, is a village in the Adirondack Mountains of Essex County. It is located on the Ausable River, approximately 20 miles south of Plattsburgh. The village has a humid continental climate, with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Keeseville was founded in 1802 by John Keese, a Revolutionary War veteran. The village was a major center of iron production in the 19th century. Today, Keeseville is a popular destination for outdoor recreation, including hiking, fishing, and kayaking.
