Karlskron is a municipality in the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen in Bavaria, Germany. It is located in the Donau-Ries region, about 20 kilometers southwest of Neuburg an der Donau and 30 kilometers northeast of Augsburg. The municipality has a population of around 5,000 people and covers an area of 35 square kilometers. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 20°C in July. Karlskron was first mentioned in a document in 1136 and received its town charter in 1314. The town's history is closely linked to the Wittelsbach dynasty, who ruled Bavaria for over 700 years. Karlskron is home to several historical buildings, including the Karlskron Castle, which was built in the 16th century. The town is also known for its asparagus production.
