Kamianka, a city in central Ukraine, is located in the Cherkas'ka Oblast at the confluence of the Tyasmyn and Smilyanka rivers. It has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The city has a rich history, having been founded in the 15th century as a Cossack settlement. It is also known for its association with the poet Taras Shevchenko, who lived and worked there for several years. Kamianka's heritage is reflected in its many historical buildings, including the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Kamianka Castle, and the Shevchenko Museum.
