Kallstadt is a municipality in the district of Bad Dürkheim, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the northwest of the Palatinate Forest, at the edge of the Haardt Mountains, about 10 km west of Neustadt an der Weinstraße. The municipality has a population of about 1,200 people. The climate is mild and temperate, with an average annual temperature of 10 °C (50 °F). The average annual precipitation is 700 mm (28 in). Kallstadt was first mentioned in 770 AD. It was part of the Electorate of the Palatinate until 1801, when it became part of the Grand Duchy of Baden. In 1946, it became part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The municipality is home to several historical buildings, including the Kallstadt Castle, which was built in the 13th century.
